Bot killed, not appearing to time out

My most recent bot incarnation is getting a lot of error reports. As an example, here is the last bit of an example report:

     --- Bot used 685 milliseconds ---
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
     --- Frame #263 ---
    Killed
     --- Bot used 555 milliseconds ---
    ERRORED!
    Response received (if any):
    Killed

The turn times are well within the time limit of one second, so I'm assuming it can't be a timeout. What other errors could there possibly be? Or is this really a timeout in disguise?
